art and nature have a intimate relation which is based on the dubious opinion that nature is basically good and therefore exemplary. how else could it be explained that artists persistently not only copy their creations but also their supposed methods? even in daily life the natural is related to the well-known, the trustworthy whereas the artificial, the synthetic often arouses our scepticism. as a passionate admirer of the artificial it isn´t easy to get closer to the natural like silk or cotton and this attempt can be successful only if we are talking about extraordinary silk or cotton!
