an independent graphic designer requires a kitchen unit which can also double as a presentation surface for his clients. according to necessity there arises a flexible concept in a sculptural form, that allows use both as a small kitchen in combination with a bar and as a large kitchen with three-sided access. a plexiglass surface, conceived as a light-source, that shields the kitchen from the bar, can be pushed up, enabling the use of the kitchen from a center aisle. the bar can be lowered as needed using an electromotor serving as an additional desktop for the now extended kitchen. client: georg thanner / 1999
